Just make certain you select Articulation ID from the View pull down menu. However, once you learn what makes the whole engine tick- and the smart money lies in checking out Logic's Event's Window in the List Editor on the far right of the upper toolbar- the whole process becomes that much more understandable - and powerful. MJHIt's actually not you, it's Logic's somewhat cryptic Articulation IDs / non-traditional MIDI maps. Just be the EZ kits I use (mostly Nashville and Americana brushes). Some things don't map exactly (like the shaker or tamborine) but that may Really particular in mind that doesn't magically pop up in Drummer. Tl dr if you want to trigger drums, I would buy a drums VST.I'm sure someone corrected an earlier post already, but just in case, I'm not so sure you're getting great drums with Logic Pro as much as you're getting a great DAW with drums as an afterthought. In terms of value, you are probably right about Logic Pro, but I see it as a greater risk.
It's not as simple as the right VST - but the way the samples play with the MIDI - the probability is just higher with EZD2. I'm not saying every EZX kit has a natural feeling either.
I don't really launch AD2, BFD3 or SSD5 anymore, even though some of those drums are incredible to listen too, just not necessarily to trigger. For me, only Toontrack seems to have that magic - at least available - for many of their kits. Once one removes all personal opinions on which VST sounds the best, one will always gravitate towards what feels the most natural in the drumsticks. I don't think it holds a candle to EZDrummer 2 tbh, but seriously after trying loads of different VSTs over the years, the most important bit hardly anybody talks about is how well they actually feel to play when triggering live. There could be a reason nobody is talking about Logic Drummer.
